Soldier Marshall Bennett (Michael Roark) returns home after he had sustained injuries from an IED explosion in combat with Afghanistan. Advised by the doctors, upon being discharged from hospital, that he has a long road to recovery with a broken back and leg, Bennett had other plans.
He had found out that his father is behind with mortgage repayments and that his wife is overworked. In order to support his family and save the family farm, as a former motocross champion bike rider, Bennett defies all odds, and with the help from his buddy Cyrus (Ali Afshar), helps him with the impossible comeback. If you’re looking for a good family movie, that leaves you feeling good and inspirational, then look no further! It’s not over the top, the acting is really good and the plot… well, I was pleasantly surprised, as I thought it was more about the demons Bennett had to fight within, during his time at war in Afghanistan.
Here’s an interesting fact though, the movie is indeed loosely based on case histories of real-life wounded veterans and was shot on actual motocross tracks with real racers, showing their spectaculars styles and tricks.
